This weeks feature is an interesting study in printing houses and surcharges. The 1955 Kuwait overprints on stamps of Great Britain are known in two types; by Waterlow Ltd. featuring a Type I overprint and by Harrison and Sons featuring a Type II overprint. Stanley Gibbons gives these stamps #’s 107-109 and 107a-109a respectively, whereas this difference is only mentioned in Scott in the form of a footnote. The two complete sets are fresh mint never hinged Very Fine and have a Stanley Gibbons catalogue value of £377. Our price: $425.
