Cryptic Croatians – Weekly Feature #408

The 1949 Universal Postal Union 75th Anniversary was in ways its most significant milestone, at least philatelically.  Many iconic stamps were produced the world over.  Although Croatia was a part of Yugoslavia and not producing its own stamps in this period, some group must have felt Croatia deserved its own ‘stamps’ to honour this auspicious occasion.  The artwork on these Cinderellas is in the style of the German-occupied era Croatian stamps.  Presented here is a set of three miniature sheets; Croatia’s  entry for the 75th Anniversary of the U.P.U.  Fresh mint never hinged Very Fine.  Our Price $99.
