CANADA #51 Shades
The one cent of the 1897 Jubilee issue is listed in catalogues as having two shades (usually described as orange and yellow-orange). They are about equally common and one of the difficulties is the number of intermediate shades that one finds. In addition we have noticed a shade which is paler and has features of a "pastel" colour when compared with others. We obtained a gorgeous example of this pastel colour and decided to offer it as DF 14 but the amended the idea to add the regular shades for comparison. (We hope that our scanning and the internet are up the subtle differences.) On the left is the pastel shade, Extremely fine in all respects, immaculate and never hinged at CDN$100, next is the yellow-orange immaculate and never hinged at CDN $30, followed by the orange which is very fine, never hinged at CDN $55. All are available individually, or buy all three for our special price: DF 14 CDN $165 | ||
