NEW BRUNSWICK BEAUTY
We occasionally see the cents issues of New Brunswick with fabulous postmarks. Unfortunately these were done a few decades after New Brunswick entered Confederation and the postmarks are of a type that was not used before 1868. These are sometimes called Macleod cancels after one of the persons believed responsible. At times these Macleod cancels achieve prices of fifty dollars or more for they certainly are attractive. Here is one on the two cent value reading St. John/ JU 19/ 65/ N.B. It is fabulous in appearance and if it were a contemporary postmark our price would be at least $200. Selling it for what it correctly is, our price is $20. DF 19 CDN $20 | ||
