CANADA #182 var. COIL STRIP 3 VARIETIES
Any coil strip with just one variety is quite collectible; with some issues coil strips with two varieties are found. This usually happens when a constant variety occurs near the "line" which typically appears every 25 stamps. This coil strip prominently shows this vertical line and to the left of the line the engraving has King George V looking cross-eyed. The "cross-eyed" or "cock-eyed" king variety is well known and sought after so that a nice never hinged strip like this one has a catalogue value of $220. In addition this strip has a Post Office repair. Re-connecting the stamp on the right to the other three because it separated during the printing process. This strip would enhance any coil collection and is just one of many that we have recently acquired in an extensive collection of coil varieties. WF84 | ||
