Weekly Feature #358 For the weeks of May 10th - May 17th, 2008
FANTASTIC FALKLAND One still finds old-time collections where stamps are mounted in rows showing a gradation of shades. This week we feature a page which shows this quite dramatically. It features the values of One penny through One shilling of the watermark CA issues of Queen Victoria. The One penny values (Scott #11, 11B and 12) include the 4 main shades and variations. The Six penny includes many more shade varieties than the two listed by Scott (# 16 yellow and #16a orange). Only the Two and a half penny with four examples has fewer than listed in Scott. Using this collector's identification the 2009 Scott catalogue value is $1935.50. There are 2 notes giving the catalogue value in 1936 as $34 and in 1949 as $45.25. The stamps are fresh, nice quality and some have been on the same album page for over 60 years. Our price for this weeekly feature is:
