Weekly Feature #359

For the weeks of May 17th - May 24th, 2008

LOVELY LUMBERING

Until 1949 stamps to be used on official mail had holes punched in the stamps with the initials OHMS. In that year and for the next fourteen years stamps were overprinted "OHMS" for about one year and then the bilingual designation "G". The scarcest of the overprints is the 50 cent Lumbering with OHMS overprint.
Only 30,000 were overprinted.
This week we offer a very fine, never hinged Plate Block of this scarce stamp. The catalogue for this quality is $2400. Our price for the special is half that at:

CDN or US$1195
